Status: Interoperable Availability Across Operating Systems
Short Description: Starting in March 2019, Iowa DMV began review and initial testing of a secure, digitized version of an Iowa holders’ driver license and identification card. With development and completion of the common mDL standard, Iowa expanded pilot activities to include testing and outreach to a limited number of businesses starting in 2022 and is planning a statewide rollout in 2023.
